In the context of the restoration of the former Théâtre Napoléon III, located in the western part of the Louis XV wing of the Château de Fontainebleau, we are carrying out work under the authority of Mr Patrick PONSOT (architect) and the OPPIC (contractor). This work consists of the restoration of cast iron railings, the manufacture of a wrought-iron handrail, the creation of a metal staircase, etc.
This theatre, which was inaugurated on May 13th 1857, was directly inspired by the little Queen Marie Antoinette theatre at Versailles. Its restoration is being helped by sponsorship from his Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nalyan, Emir of Abu Dhabi and President of the United Arab Emirates. In recognition of this sponsorship the French Minister of Culture and Communication decided on April 27th 2007 to rename the Imperial Theatre after its sponsor and patron.
