This building, constructed in the mid eighteenth century, belongs to the National School of Oriental Languages (now known as INALCO), where generations of skilled translators and diplomats were trained. A major restoration project has been completed recently. We dismantled all the balconies and restored the balustrades, which had lost some of their iron leaf decoration. The restoration was carried out with an overriding concern for authenticity.
